Personal data policy

Updated on October 23, 2026

Suroeste a la Mano explains to visitors, businesses and account holders how personal data is handled under Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012 and the rules that complement it.

Who is responsible

Suroeste a la Mano NIT: 15534157-4 is the data controller. You can write to dircomsur@gmail.com or call 3233118416. Those channels are used for access, update and deletion requests.

What we process

Browsing the directory does not require an account. If you use “Near me”, the browser reads your location on your device only, to sort results. That location is not stored on our servers.

If you accept measurement, we count views, listing appearances and contact clicks tied to a business. That count does not include your name or email. The IP address is checked briefly to limit abuse and is not stored in the database.

We store the language in a cookie and the light or dark theme in browser storage.

Admin and business accounts use an email and a password. The password is handled by the authentication service; we do not see it. An administrator may attach an email to a business.

Published listings include the business name, description, address, phone numbers, social links, photos and hours that the business provides for the public page.

This site has no payment checkout and does not ask for a card number.

Why we use it

To publish the directory, sign in people who administer or edit a listing, show usage figures to each business, and reply to messages sent to the published email or phone.

Search sends the text you type to the search service so it can return results. We do not use that information for advertising.

Your rights

You may access, update and correct your data, ask for proof of authorization when it is required, and request deletion or withdraw authorization when there is no legal or contractual duty to keep the data.

Write to dircomsur@gmail.com and say which data and which request you are making. You may also file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce. Response times are those of Law 1581 of 2012.

Service providers

Hosting, the database, authentication and search are provided by technology vendors that process data in order to run the directory. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

A business listing is kept while it is published and for any extra time a legal duty requires. An account is kept while it is active. You can ask to close a listing or an account by emailing the controller.

Children

The directory is not directed at children and we do not ask for data about minors.
